You my or may not be aware that today is Very Hungry Caterpillar Day. I don’t really know whether this is an official thing that happens annually on the 20th of March. However it does seem fitting that I share this post today.

You see, I have a confession. Just a small teensy weensy thing. But now when I put it in writing, I realise it’s kind of embarrassing. I’m just going to come out and say it.

I collect anything related to The Very Hungry Caterpillar

There, I said it.

I’m not entirely sure how this obsession came about, I don’t know if it’s because I like the artist Eric Carle, or if I just find the caterpillar cute, I can’t even remember what my first Hungry Caterpillar related purchase was. But I do know, it’s gone too far and I can’t stop.

Now you’re probably thinking it can’t be that bad. Oh but it is. Bare in mind I’m an 18 year old woman who in the near future wants to go in the working world and be taken very seriously. This might be difficult when I drink my grown up coffee out of a mug with butterflies printed on it, but hey ho.

This isn’t even all of it.. I’ll list what I own for those interested.
Bedding, two skirts, two mugs, a plate, a bowl, an eggcup, plasters, toothpaste, a box of tissues, 8 packs of travel tissues, wetwipes, an annual, cake cases and cake toppers, a giant floor puzzle, a backpack, light up bunting, a flask, and a colouring book.

Whilst I am pretty embarrassed by my small collection, I think it’s nice to have something that’s mine. I like seeing that familiar face looking at me when I’m having my breakfast, or nibbling my afternoon toast. It’s comforting in a way.

Do any of you collect anything? Or do you own any Hungry Caterpillar items yourself? I’d love to know! Drop a comment in the box below. (ooh poet and I know it)
